Random Thought

I have been sick for the past 4 days and it sucks. I haven't left my house in 3 days. And I still haven't copped the new Clipse album due to my confinement. Smh. This cold/virus/flu needs to go away. Like now! I can't concentrate on my work or even the blog. The list of things I need to do keeps piling up. Not saying my sickness is an excuse, I just have no energy and can barely hold my head up.

Today though, I'm feeling a little better. Less throwing up today. Good sign.

But I was looking through pics on my lappy today and saw this one. This was taken on my trip to Barbados. I was on one of them jet ski things in like what seemed the middle of the ocean. If you look behind me, that's where the island was. I was a little scared but it was a rush. I thought about sharks for a second lol... But then I was cool.

I like this picture cause I look warm, healthy and I'm having fun. Toronto is not bringing me that joy right about now. There is snow on the ground. And a cold front on the way. Smh. So I think it's time Netty and I get away. I was thinking Mexico for my bday (In February). Nadine is on her Miami vibe. Which is nice too. Hmmm. I guess we have some things to work out. But February is the month for me to escape and jump back on them jet skis.

Also at the end of this month I plan to be in NY again with the family and some new friends. But first I need to get over this sickness and get some work and get back to reality. I've been in a medicated daze for 72 hours. lol.

Plus I need to be in good health for Nadine's bday this weekend. Party Party Party lets all get.....Ya'll know the rest. Peace.

Whitney Houston is featured on the January 2010 issue of In Style Magazine. She looks gorgeous on the cover! Hopefully this and her tour next year will help her with her comeback!

This Will Be Bumpin Til The Casket Drops

Today I went out to cop the HIGHLY anticipated Clipse album Til The Casket Drops. I’m still bumping it to be honest. Clipse did not let me down, just like I knew they wouldn’t. Gene and Terrence Thornton have come back with heat, and everyone needs to hear it! Too many people sleep on and underestimate these dudes. I had a discussion with an acquaintance last night about hip hop of course, and he said that these guys won’t sell. All they take about is being a D-Boy and shit like that. I agreed on his statement about the content because yeah that is what they rap about, because that is what they are (or were) about. That is a problem many rappers have; they rap about shit they don’t know about in order to sell. Anyway back to the topic at hand; the album. At the moment I really cannot choose a track off the album that is my favourite. If there was one that I didn’t like at first, it is slowly growing on me, making them all worth playing over and over again. Neptune’s produced 8 out of the 13 tracks, each featuring Pharrell’s vocals somewhere on it( Popular Demand, Showing Out, I’m Good, Door Man, All Eyes On me, Counselling, Champion, Life Change) Sean C & LV did one (Freedom) DJ Khalil & Chin Injeti produced two( Kinda Like A Big Deal, There Was A Murder) While DJ Khalil on his own produced one(Footsteps) All the instrumentals are ill and of course the lyrics laced on them are dope. This album is a very good album. I give it 4 stars out of 5. Its most def something you HAVE to pick up if you hasn’t already
Also dropping today was Snoop Dogg’s Malice in Wonderland and Chris Beat-A-Bitch Brown’s Graffiti. But to be honest, I could care less about em. I mean I luv snoop...well used to. He isn’t the same; but that’s an argument that is to be saved for another day.

KiD CuDi x MGMT x Ratatat - Pursuit Of Happiness Video

I love this track, but I hate the video. When I listen to this song that last thing I would picture for a video is a club, with bottles poppin. It really does take away from the song. Theres some cameos from Drake and Consequence in the video too. I pictured something more abstract, something to make you think, and at least show the people who are featured on the track. smh... Im a Cudder fan, and to me this video doesnt seem like him, I mean this is a dude who dressed up as Max from Where The Wild Things Are for his performance of 'Alive' at the Gaga concert. This is just my opinion, you guys check out the video and see if you agree with me.

Wasted Birthday?

My birthday is soon approaching; in two days to be exact, but to be honest, I’m not as excited I thought I would be. A month or two back I was hella excited, making plans, and trying to figure out exactly what I wanted to do. As the day drew closer, I found myself changing the plans, scratching out ideas, and just beginning to second guess doing anything at all. My plans went from hotel suite party, to club hopping all weekend, to hotel party, to one club event and hotel get together, to house party, to dinner and a club, to now nothing but chilling with my girls and possibly going to a party next week. My problem is that I like to entertain people; I like to make sure the people around me who are celebrating with me are having a good time, as well as myself. I didn’t give myself enough time to plan something with other people so I scratched the whole idea. Now my thing is to keep it low key for my bday, hit up one or two parties and save my money for New Years, because I have to do it big. I have yet to go out for NYE, I never really saw the point, but this year it is different because I feel like it really is something to celebrate. I think that is why I’m not that excited for my own birthday; I’m too focused on making my NYE everything I want it to be. Britt and I have already begun the celebration of my bday and the month from last weekend...it really was a wasted weekend. A 48 hour Appleton diet with a side of that good good. Smh, the rest of this month really is going to be something.

Bad Food + Bad Service = No Tip

Earlier tonight I went out for dinner and drinks with two of my very good friends. When I’m with them it is virtually impossible for time to go by without us laughing our asses off about something crazy one of us is thinking or has done. Tonight we decided to hit up Kelsey’s. Don’t ask why we went, my behind should have known better than to go there after what happened last time I went. The food is terrible with service to match. Our waiter came to us twice...I don’t know why he didn’t just use a note pad like most other waiters do. Anyway, I settled for sea salt and cracked pepper wings and Jackson Triggs white wine. The wings were good, I was actually surprised. A shame I can’t say the same for Jody and Michelle’s meal. Their burgers were hard and dry, and their fries were so light skinned! It was clear they over cooked the burger and undercooked the fries. Over dinner we talked about males, my birthday plans, and the stupidity some girls do and go through and of course males. After our stomachs were full but not satisfied, we asked for our bill, only to receive the wrong bill....honestly? Don’t expect to see my face in that place again...ever.smh
